The “Roux-Y” gastric bypass is a type of Bariatric Surgery with a type of mixed mechanism: restrictive and hypoabsorptive. On the one hand, it restricts the amount of food and on the other, it decreases the absorption of the few foods ingested.

Conversion from gastric sleeve to gastric bypass.
Those patients who underwent a gastric sleeve and years later present significant weight gain and/or gastroesophageal reflux that is difficult to manage, may benefit from a conversion from sleeve to gastric bypass. It is a surgery with general anesthesia, laparoscopically, lasting two hours and quick recovery.
